The assessment is grounded in accepted psychometric and statistical methodologies. In this regard we have found the statistical accuracy to be very high. At regular intervals we conduct a questionnaire item analysis to check the usefulness of each individual item. As a result of this, specific items are adjusted in order to improve the accuracy even further. We have also requested feedback from many people who have completed the questionnaire regarding the accuracy of their feedback report, and again we overwhelmingly found a high degree of accuracy.

The Personality Star report that you receive after completing the questionnaire highlights the likely patterns of behaviour that you display on a regular basis. Some of these behaviours you might not even be aware of, but other people may have noticed them, and this is where you can deepen your own self-knowledge. The report will also give an indication of why you behave the way you do, along with the potential impact of your behaviour, and this can be even more enlightening!

The Enneagram theory suggests that although you display behaviour from all nine types, there is one type that is most dominant for you and that you use most frequently for your whole life. However, as you develop your ‘personal mastery, and ‘emotional resilience’ you can more easily access a much wider range of behaviour and consciously choose how you will show up in a particular situation in order to get the best out of it. The Jungian Types can be thought of as preferred ways of behaving and although you will have particular natural preferences, with practice you can develop the less preferred behaviours so that they become more natural.

Personality can change to some extent over time and as we have different life experiences. If you think back to how you were when you were much younger, you’ll probably notice that some changes have indeed occurred.

There are a number of variables that can cause this. For example, we know that our context (external environment and internal emotional states) can affect behaviour, so if your context was significantly different when you completed an earlier test, then you might get a different result. Also, some tests are more accurate than others, so if there was a difference in statistical accuracy between two tests, then this could also lead to different results. In addition, the natural process of maturing as you get older can cause changes as can actively participating in personal development programmes.

This assessment is really all about helping you to think about and become more aware of your behaviour and how others might perceive you. We all have strengths and possible non-strengths or aspects of our behaviour that seem to get in the way or cause some difficulty. As you become more aware of these, you can actively choose to continue with the positive behaviours and work on changing some of the more negative behaviours that don’t serve you.

There are a number of things you can do. For example you could start to put together a personal development plan by asking yourself: What do I need to continue doing because it really serves me and helps me build great relationships? What do I need to stop doing because it causes difficulty or stops me from being as effective as I can be? And what could I start doing that would really help me to grow as a person and build more positive relationships?
